Vince Van Patten

Known as the WPT “Hollywood Home-Game Sensation,” Vince Van Patten co-commentates the WPT with Mike Sexton . A former child actor and a tennis pro, Vince realized he loved poker when, at age 14, his father, Dick Van Patten, taught him to play. It was also then that he developed a love for betting. Since then, he just can’t get enough. A devoted father and husband, Vince also loves paddle tennis, where he frequently makes the national finals. So how did he get his nickname? He’s not exactly sure, but “for years, I’ve played in a circle of poker games in the Los Angeles area,” he says. “They’re made up of mostly entertainment people…[plus] there is the fact that I’ve taught and tutored half the players in those games, which sometimes come back to haunt me.”
