9g Las Vegas
9g Las Vegas
Everyone’s a fan of Las Vegas these days, right? Show your Vegas spirit by getting a set of these poker chips for your home poker game. Until the release of the Nevada Jacks, these poker chips were the standard for a casino-quality poker chip at a reasonable cost. If the Nevada Jacks are still out of your budget, these chips are the way to go.
They have an authentic clay feel to them and don’t have the metallic "ping" sound that the widely distributed 11.5g chips do. They do have a label on them, but aside from taking a razor blade to these poker chips, the label is going nowhere. The label also acts as protection against scratching. Coloring along the edges is nice with stripes that run from the top of the chip, around the edge, to the other side of the chip. Between these stripes are two evenly spaced diamonds. This makes for an attractive look when these chips are stacked. One minor issue is that several chips in the set had colors on the edging that bled. It was noticeable, but not so serious that I wouldn’t consider getting a set of these chips.
A potential drawback with these chips is the weight. At 9g, they are noticeably lighter (and slightly smaller in diameter) than a traditional poker room chip. If weight isn’t an issue for you, I wouldn’t hesitate to use this set at a home poker game.
