At one time it was dubbed “America’s Most-Watched Poker Show,” The Ultimate Poker Challenge aired weekly for three season to nearly a million households per episode. “With special guests and participants lined up throughout the season, we anticipate the country’s hottest spectator sport to reach an entertaining zenith in our championship round where someone will walk away with a grand prize of money and glory,” says executive producer Dan Pugliese.
The Ultimate Poker Challenge combines poker professionals with top amateur players to play their way through 23 special “Texas Hold’em” tournaments. Rather than playing for money, they play for points. Top point winners go on to semi-finals until only eight finalists hit the felt in the championship round. All games are played at The Plaza Hotel in downtown Las Vegas.
